This challenge has been altered to suit our facebook group challenge with an easy and hard mode and varied goals.
Challenge goal: To have a household build a profitable farm and live off the produce.
Easy mode set up:
Create a sim, or small family. Use the starting funds to build/buy/download a small farm house. Ensure there is an area for the crops to grow (you can build a greenhouse no bigger than 28 tiles) if you have seasons and choose to harvest your crops all year round.
If you have cats & dogs pack, you can build a small barn that can house two 'animals', have an enclosed space around it, and allow the animals to roam free during the day, and close them in the barn at night. Ensure they have food and water at all times.
If you have eco lifestyle, you may choose to have a solar farm, and sell off the excess.
Easy mode goals:
Have at least one sim max the gardening skill.
Have at least one sim complete the freelance botanist aspiration.
Have at least 40 crops and two 'barn animals' in total. If you are doing the eco lifestyle solar farm, have at least 20 wind turbines.
Have household funds reach at least 100,000 simoleons
Hard mode set up:
Create a sim, or small family. Use the starting funds to puchase a lot at least 40x30 size and build/buy/download a small farm house.
Ensure there is an area for the crops to grow, if you have seasons, you must arrange your farm to suit the seasonal plants with no greenhouse.
If you have cats & dogs pack, you can build a small barn that can house four 'animals', have an enclosed space around it, and allow the animals to roam free during the day, and close them in the barn at night. Ensure they have food and water at all times.
If you have eco lifestyle, you may choose to have a solar farm, and sell off the excess.
You can only harvest each type of wild plant from different neighbourhoods once (so only one wild strawberry plant, even though there might be 3 in a neighbourhood and others in other worlds)
You can't have any other money-making jobs and you can't grow any money trees.
Hard mode goals:
Have at least two sims max the gardening skill.
Have at least two sims complete the freelance botanist aspiration and one sim complete one other 'nature' aspiration.
Have at least 80 crops and four 'barn animals' in total. If you are doing the eco lifestyle solar farm, have at least 25 wind turbines.
Have household funds reach at least 200,000 simoleons.
